Transportation:
- There will be taxis at the airport that are capable of transporting 6+ passengers plus luggage - most arriving visitors will go this route (so there may be a queue).
-
Alternatively, Majestic Tours (http://www.majestictours.ky/services) also offers an airport transfer service and, if needed, will have car seats available for children.
-
General taxi service on island - Ace Taxi – phone (345) 777-7777.
-
Sorry, no Lyft or Uber available on island. An Iocal version is available at: www.islandride.ky
-
The usual international rental car companies (Avis, Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, etc.) have offices nextdoor to the airport. Otherwise, Marshall’s (https://www.marshalls.ky/) and Andy’s (http://www.andys.ky/) may offer more reasonable rates, depending on your vehicle preference.

Currency Exchange/Money:
There is no need for visitors to exchange their US dollars into local currency. The U.S. dollar is widely accepted in the Cayman Islands. If US currency is used for payment, change will likely be given in C.I. All cash registers are programmed to make the conversion automatically. In general, a U.S. $1 = C.I. $0 .80 and a C.I. $1 = U.S. $1.25
Canadian dollars, Euros and pounds sterling can be exchanged for CI dollars at local banks.
VISA and MASTERCARD credit cards are widely accepted (AMEX less so) on island (remember to check with your credit card company re any foreign transaction charges). In addition, Automatic Teller Machines accepting VISA and MasterCard with Cirrus affiliation are located at most banks, at Owen Roberts International Airport, and other locations such as the grocery stores/gas stations.
Groceries/Delivery & Liquor:
- Foster’s new location: https://goo.gl/maps/qPPzKVp4KEz1DQ13A
- Online shopping and grocery delivery: https://shop.fosters.ky/shop or https://hurleys.ky/shop/
- Walking directions to the new Fosters (closed on Sundays) and Blackbeard’s Liquors, located in Camana Bay, about a 10-15mins walk South. Turn right as you leave the complex. Walk along West Bay Road until you reach to the second Pedestrian crossing, cross and continue walking South. Directly after Burger King, there will be a pathway to Camana Bay (Camana Way) on your left. Continue on Camana Way, up and over the highway until your reach Emeritus Drive (you’ll see Next Chapter (book store) across the street), make a left on Emeritus Drive and continue on the sidewalk – Fosters will be directly in front of you after crossing Solaris Ave (Blackbeard’s Liquor will be on at the far end of the same building). This is safest route – you could skip the overpass and cut across the highway but we don’t recommend it.

- Jacques Scott Liquor offers online shopping with delivery: https://www.jacquesscottonline.com/

Rental Cribs/Pack-n-Plays:
Unfortunately, we do not have cribs etc. available on site but we suggest:
- Chet Ebanks at http://emptysuitcases.com/
- Karen Flesch at https://www.tourintots.com/
Stingray City/Coral Gardens/Starfish Point:
- For smaller private tour operators, we would suggest Cobalt Custom Charters (https://www.cobaltcustomcharters.com/) or Crazy Crab (www.crazycrabcayman.com),
- For larger operators (lower cost per individual), we would suggest Captain Marvin’s (https://www.captainmarvins.com/) George’s Water Sports (https://www.thingstodocayman.net/georges-watersports/) Red Sail (https://redsailcayman.com/boat-excursions/) or Six Sense (https://www.sixsensescaymanadventures.com/).
- For a luxury catamaran we would suggest Surfside Charters (https://www.sailingcayman.com/)
Either way, we would recommend scheduling Stingray City for a day with less cruise ship passengers on island, weather permitting (https://www.caymanport.com/ship-schedules-calendar/) or opt for an early morning or late afternoon trip.
Bioluminescence Bay:
This tour is really a once in a lifetime experience (IMHO) and will vary depending on the operator; however, this is dependent on the lunar cycle. Most of the above will offer a Bio Bay tour in addition to Cayman Kayaks (http://www.caymankayaks.com),
